A Happy No S Dieter
I was introduced to the No S Diet in June 2008. After a little online research, I liked how it sounded and thought it would be do-able. After 21 days I knew I was hooked! I can honestly say that I LOVE it and believe it really has helped me not only lose weight, but also enjoy food in a healthier way. Please feel free to leave your comments or suggestions!

What is the No S Diet?

The No S Diet

No Snacks, No Sweets, No Seconds. Except (sometimes) on days that start with S.

That's the basis of Reinhard Engels' No S Diet - where simplicity is the key.

Engels claims that most diets can be split into two categories:

  • Pseudoscientific taboo/miracle food diets that pretend that you can go on being a glutton as long as you confine your gluttony to a particular class of foods while completely excluding others (no agreement on what these particular kinds of foods are, of course).
  • Diets that require you to be a full time calorie accountant.

In all honesty, he's mostly right. Most diets have a very short life. Inevitably, after just a few weeks or months, most people ditch the diet and return to their former eating patterns.

The No S Diet has got most of the bases covered.

  • No Seconds - portion control
  • No Sweets - nutrition
  • No Snacks - nutrition - most people tend to snack out on foods that are fatty and very salty.

What are S Days? Saturdays and Sundays (no stressing on the weekend), and Special days (you can eat cake on your birthday).

A smart and simple idea. Check it out.

P.S. If you're looking for fitness advice, check out Engels' Shovel Glove page.
